My significant other and I started a Badminton coaching academy this year.
Although, I am no sportsman like my partner. So 80% of the credit goes to him.
I handle the management side of it from behind the scenes — like registering the business, the finances, client communication, designing logos and merch, etc.
My partner shows up every single day and does the actual coaching. He is wonderful at his job — committed, punctual, and vibes with the kids so they love him.
First Stages: Every Opportunity Counts
Like in any business, in the beginning, we welcomed all kinds of clients even if they were not our ideal clients. Because beggars can’t be choosers.
At least not yet.
We appreciated every opportunity and every new student. After all, they help pay some of our bills.
As it was still new, we wanted to see how sustainable our coaching model was by observing our student retention numbers.
So when did we know that our coaching business was actually growing in the right direction?
