“Do what you love” is the worst advice ever.
Because,
- It’s selfish.
- It’s not efficient.
- It’s a waste of energy.
And it usually leads you to suffer.
Imagine Paul McCartney had decided to become an accountant because he loves numbers.
Not only would he not have been as good at his job as the people gifted in accounting, but the world would have been left without the Beatles.
How selfish would that have been?
How selfish is it for your gift to be left without flourishing?
The universe has given you natural abilities/facilities for a reason. To not use them is to despise the beautiful gift the universe gave you.
The biggest mistake is competing with gifted people when you only have passion.
It’s not efficient because even if the hard work pays off, it will take you much longer…
