NUPRC PRAISED FOR TRANSPARENCY AND IMPARTIALITY BY CSOs
By Nicolas Adekeye,

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has received commendation from a consortium of civil society groups for its faithful and diligent implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s directives on crude oil supply to local refineries. This praise comes despite insinuations from certain quarters.

In a press statement issued in Abuja, Comrade James Okoronkwo, spokesman for the Coalition of Civil Society Groups for Peace, Security, Good Governance, Equity, and Justice, and Media Practitioners in the Energy Sector, lauded the Gbenga Komolafe-led NUPRC leadership for creating an enabling environment for local refiners to thrive in Nigeria.

The civil society groups condemned the campaign of calumny against industry regulators by those allegedly bent on monopolizing the local crude oil refining business. They noted that monopolizing the industry would be detrimental to the people in the long run.

Finally, they commended NUPRC for enabling and enhancing access to crude oil for the Edo Refining and Petrochemical Company Ltd.
