I’ve come to realize that I can somehow distinguish people’s true intentions — whether they are genuinely driven by kindness or just seeking reciprocity.
True acts of kindness came from pure motives, not from a mind clouded by ulterior motives. It’s about doing things because you genuinely want to, not because you’re expecting something in return.
Once I receive something, whether it is help or a gift, I always ask myself: is this given from a pure heart and soul, or from a mind controlled by the desire for reciprocity?
It’s in these moments that I realize the true value of gestures and the intentions behind them, shaping how I perceive kindness and generosity in my life.
When your action to me is truly genuine, it gives positivity and makes our connections stronger. But if it’s all about getting something in return, it loses its meaning and feels more like a trade.
At the end of the day, we are the ones who will choose those we surround ourselves with and distance ourselves from those who do not value us.
