If this is the case — for you or anyone else you may know or love; how can we

educate our selves so we are able to flourish and grow healthier as a

community? I myself wasn’t born into a rich family as

many I’m sure many of us didn’t when that lottery Lol — in all seriousness one

of the gifts I did receive growing up was a good sense of understanding the

importance of nutrition; see my family were immigrants from

Haiti ; were all if not most of the food they ate were grown locally so

they had access to things like mangoes, green plantains and so

much more; Although they were not wealthy they were healthy.

Fast forward to now; although I was was taught to eat healthy

thing changes when I moved out on my one and could

Barely afford rent — not to machine being a young mother as well;

so what changed? For one my mindset; Early on my journey I

started to notice that — I didn’t like how I was feeling in my body

which is the worst; One of the fist things I started taking

notes of is how certain foods made me feel; Now pay close attention

we are all connected to the earth :

Genesis 2:7

Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground

and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man

became a living creature.

It’s safe to say that were all connected in one form or the next; so

why is the food we all consume any different; when we make it a

point to eat a balanced diet with much more fruits and vegetables

we give or body’s a fighting changes to survive disease-free life and

who doesn’t want that? Making healthy food choices can have a significant

impact on your overall well-being. Here are some recommendations studies has provided to be beneficial for optimal health :

  1. Whole grains: Foods like brown rice, oatmeal, and whole grain bread are high in fiber and can keep you full for longer. They are also a good source of essential vitamins and minerals.
  2. Lean proteins: Foods like chicken, turkey, fish, and beans are high in protein and can help build and repair tissues.
  3. Fruits and Vegetables: These are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Aim to fill half your plate with fruits and veggies at each meal.
  4. Healthy fats: Foods like avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil can provide you with healthy fats that are essential for your body’s function.
  5. Dairy: Opt for low-fat or non-fat dairy products to get your daily dose of calcium and vitamin D.

Remember, it’s not just about what you eat, but also about portion sizes. Even the healthiest foods can add to weight gain if you eat them in large amounts.

You may also want to add these to your grocery list:

  • Lean meats { such as chicken]
  • Legumes {including beans, peas, and lentils}
  • Fatty fish {such as salmon}
  • Fruits and vegetables,particularly leafy greens
  • Green tea

When you make it a point to be health conscious your surrounding

will no longer be the driving force in your decision-making when it

comes to food: which leads to a much healthier for-filling life style

over all.
